"The film, like the man, is never boring." - New York Post
The Wall Street Journal review:
A public intellectual who was a thorn in the side of the very establishment that spawned him, Gore Vidal is an irresistible force in this documentary, which celebrates his acerbic wit and lifelong iconoclasm. Vidal, who died in 2012 at age 86, reflects on a notorious career in extensive, latter-day interviews, sharing confidences about friends (John F. Kennedy, Paul Newman ) while sparing nothing of his enemies (William F. Buckley). The dishiness goes hand-in-hand with Vidal's stinging critique of U.S. politics and culture, which anticipated the Occupy Wall Street protests by decades.
Note: in New York City, the documentary is running for one week only, through the evening of Thursday, May 29, at the IFC Center and the Lincoln Plaza Cinemas.
